Who we are and where we come from
BCMMetrics was created by the team behind MHA Consulting, a boutique business continuity consulting firm with a 25-year record of leadership and success. Our platform was originally developed to help MHA consultants conduct BC engagements with their clients, ranging from smaller companies to Fortune 100 corporations. Now, the same tool suite MHA consultants use every day with their clients is available to any organization that subscribes to the BCMMetrics platform.
HOW IT STARTED
The BCMMetrics story
2013
Michael Herrera developed BCMMetrics for use during consulting engagements. The software started with only one module, Compliance Confidence.
Development of BIA On-Demand
BIA On-Demand was developed and released to subscribers. This module allows users to complete their own business impact analyses (BIAs) from start to finish in a more streamlined manner.
Development of BCM Planner
BCM Planner is developed, going hand-in-hand with BIA On-Demand. Users can upload, create, and edit templates and plans in the software, and automatically populate those plans with applicable BIA data.
Development of BCM One
BCM One is developed which acts as a document repository for an organization. What separates it from other repositories is that the plans are organized by site and can be found by clicking on pins on a map.
Development of Residual Risk
Residual Risk is developed to help identify any remaining risk in an organization. Users can identify the amount of risk that can be accepted and assess if they fall below that threshold.
2023 – Implementation of exercise tracking and reporting
Users can create, update, and report on mock exercises that are run in their organization. They can search through the database for the specific business units, plans, and applications that are being exercised and connect them to the report.
2024 – Release of BCMMetrics 2.0
Over the course of two years, the BCMMetrics team worked together to give the software a facelift. Users are now greeted with a software with a modern look and feel, with additional functionalities to streamline every step of the BC process.
Michael and his team are continuity professionals. They've been around for a while–they know what they’re doing, what works and what doesn't work. They're also willing to listen to other community professionals to make improvements.

It helps that BCMMetrics was created by continuity professionals, for continuity professionals. You have other solutions built by computer programmers that pulled information from a questionnaire and started tweaking it. They have not had the end-user experience to really make that program pop and be beneficial to the client.

The team was fantastic in assisting us. In fact, they went above and beyond and ensuring that we could get done what we needed to do. They worked hard to ensure that we were happy and where we needed to be at the end.
